UEFA posted revenues of €4,051.6m during the 2021-22 financial year, a record figure for a season without a European Football Championship, according to the confederation's financial statement, which was made available to several European media outlets on 05/03/2023.

These unprecedented revenues were mainly driven by media rights (€3.4bn, 84.5% of the total), ahead of commercial revenues (€533.7m, 13.2%). This is due to the entry into a new, more lucrative TV rights cycle (2021-2024) for men's club competitions, which has notably led to the launch of a new event with the Europa Conference League. UEFA also highlighted the new format of the Women's Champions League initiated in 2021-22.

Revenue from these men's club competitions amounted to €3.61bn, an increase of €459m compared to the 2020-21 financial year. Of this total, €3.14bn came from the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup (87%), while the remaining €475.2m came from the Europa League and Europa Conference League.

UEFA nevertheless posted a net loss of €76.3m over the period.
