French Football Federation: a record 220,352 licensees, including 176,682 female players, in 2023

220,352 girls or women registered with the FFF (compared to 197,779 in 2022) on 08/03/2023, including 176,682 female players (compared to 163,717 in 2022), these were the record figures announced by the Fédération Française de Football on the occasion of International Women's Day on 08/03/2022.

"The feminisation plan launched in 2012 and then the diversity plan have encouraged access to football for the greatest number of girls and women. From less than 90,000 in 2010-11, there are now more than 220,000 female licensees (players, coaches, referees, directors), i.e. 10% of the total (2,178,583 as of 06/03/2023)," said the FFF.

"Since October 2021, the Women's High-Level Football Committee, chaired by Jean-Michel Aulas, has been working in collaboration with the National Technical Director (DTN) to encourage the development of high-level football.
