Canal+ Group: a turnover of €5.87bn in 2022 (+457,000 subscribers in France in one year)

In 2022, the pay and free-TV group Canal+ posted a turnover of €5.87bn, up 1.7% compared to 2021 (+0.3% at constant currency and perimeter), according to the results published by Vivendi, a conglomerate of telecommunications and media companies and parent company of Canal+, on 08/03/2023.

"At the end of December 2022, Canal+ Group's total subscriber portfolio (individual and collective) reached 25.5 million, compared to 23.7 million at the end of December 2021," said Vivendi.

Revenues from television in mainland France increased by 1.6% at constant currency and perimeter compared to 2021. The total subscriber base in mainland France grew by 457,000 net subscribers over the last 12 months to 9.5 million.

International revenues increased by 3.5% at constant currency and perimeter compared to 2021, due to a further increase in the subscriber base (+1.3 million in one year). The total subscriber base outside mainland France stood at 16 million at the end of December 2022.

  • EBITA amounted to €515m, compared to €480m in 2021, an increase of 7.3% (+3.4% at constant currency and perimeter).
