France: Paris Saint-Germain confirm will to submit a bid to buy the Stade de France

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) is to submit a bid to buy the Stade de France (80,000 capacity, Saint-Denis, FRA) in response to the call for tenders launched on 09/03/2023 by the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, as confirmed by the Parisian club to News Tank on 13/03/2023. Several French media, including the daily L'Equipe, had reported this information on 10/03/2023.

The club's priority remains to acquire the Parc des Princes (Paris, FRA), but it is considering alternative options as the City of Paris, which owns the stadium, has stated that it was "not for sale" on 16/01/2023. Three options are currently on the table:
• the purchase and renovation of the Parc des Princes;
• the purchase and renovation of the Stade de France, whose current lease ends in 2025;
• the construction of a new stadium.

The American company Legends has been commissioned by the club to survey fans and to explore alternative options, in order to develop a project that could host more spectators than the current Parc des Princes (47,929 capacity in 2022-23). The…
