David Terrier, vice-president of the French Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) and member of the board of FIFPro, has been appointed president of the European division of the International Federation of Professional Footballers, announced the French body on 14/03/2023.

The Frenchman succeeds Englishman Bobby Barnes, president of FIFPro Europe since October 2013, who officially resigned in January 2023.

"UNFP initiated the creation of FIFPro in 1965, most notably under the impetus of Michel Hidalgo and Just Fontaine, and has maintained its position and influence within the international players' union, while seeing the excellent work carried out at national level being recognised, as France, for many members, remains an example. David Terrier has been appointed to a position held by Philippe Piat between 2007 and 2011," said UNFP.
