2030 World Cup: "A Moroccan joint bid with Spain and Portugal" (Mohammed VI)

"I hereby announce before this assembly that the Kingdom of Morocco has decided, together with Spain and Portugal, to present a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup. Unprecedented in the history of football, this joint bid will connect Africa and Europe, the North and South of the Mediterranean, and the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds," declared Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, in a statement read on the occasion of the 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Award of Excellence, awarded to the Moroccan monarch in Kigali (Rwanda) on 14/03/2023.

"This joint bid will also be a rallying call for the best from both sides and a demonstration of an alliance of ingenuity, creativity, experience and resources," said the King of Morocco in the message read out by his Sports Minister Chakib Benmoussa.
