73^rd FIFA Congress: Gianni Infantino re-elected president for four years (2023-2027) by acclamation

Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA since 26/02/2016, has been re-elected for another four-year term (2023-2027) at the body's 73^rd Congress attended by 208 of the 211 member national federations in Kigali (Rwanda) on 16/03/2023. As the sole candidate in the running, he was re-elected by acclamation, as in 2019.

"Thank you to all of you, my family, my wife, my friends, my team, the FIFA team. Thank you to all those who love me, and I know there are many who do, and to all those who do not love me. I believe there are only a few, and today I love them too. Let's all work together to unite the world through football," said the re-elected president. Before the vote, the Swiss-Italian praised the financial situation of the world body. "I promised you that we would increase revenues so that FIFA would be even more stable, and also more transparent, to restore the trust of our broadcasters, sponsors and partners. Our revenues are now $7.5bn (€7bn), a record with over $1bn more than we expected," said Gianni Infantino.
