Media: shareholders approve the merger between Mediaset España and MediaForEurope

The shareholders of the free-TV group Mediaset España and the Italian group MediaForEurope (MFE, owner of the private Italian group Mediaset) have approved the merger between the two entities, announced both parties on 15/03/2023.

"The extraordinary general shareholders’ meeting of MFE has resolved to approve the proposal to enter into a cross-border merger by absorption of Mediaset España (as absorbed company) with and into MFE (as absorbing company) pursuant to the terms and conditions of the common cross-border merger plan prepared and signed on 30/01/2023 by the members of the boards of directors of both companies involved," said MFE. The shareholders of Mediaset España have also approved the merger at the same extraordinary general meeting, held on 15/03/2023.

MediaForEurope currently holds 82.92% of Mediaset España. This announcement comes as MediaForEurope has announced that it will acquire 1.53% of the shares held by five shareholders in Mediaset España, including 1.05% from the telecommunications and media conglomerate Vivendi (parent company of the free and pay-TV group…
