Financial fair play: "If the rules are clear, it's harder to challenge them" (H. Hainer, FC Bayern)

"The success of the new regulations will depend on how strongly sanctions are imposed - no matter which club it is. There will be levels of escalation - up to and including exclusion from a competition. If the rules are clear, it will be harder to challenge them afterwards. I think everyone is aware that it can't go on like this in terms of football. Hainer was referring to the "UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Regulations", the new version of financial fair play, which will be phased in from 2022 until 2025.
