"While I do not challenge the autonomy of sports organisations, I believe it's time for FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) to put all its cards on the table in order to remove doubts about the report's findings," stated Tibor Navracsics, the new European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, on 15/11/2014 about the work of the FIFA Ethics Committee regarding the bidding for the 2018 (Russia) and 2022 (Qatar) World Cups.

"Football is close to the hearts of millions of fans across Europe and the world. For a number of years, the game's integrity has been undermined by allegations of corruption," said the Hungarian commissioner to the British Newspaper the Financial Times.
