Credit Suisse Takeover: agreement with Swiss Football Association to be honoured until 30/06/2024

"Credit Suisse has assured us that it will complete its contract, which ends on 30/06/2024, at least as long as the Credit Suisse brand still exists," said Adrian Arnold, head of communications for the Swiss Football Association, to Swiss Radio Television on 21/03/2023. Arnold was responding to the takeover of Credit Suisse by another Swiss banking group, UBS, for CHF3bn (€3.02bn) on 19/03/2023, following financial difficulties.

Credit Suisse will remain a main sponsor of the Swiss Football Association (SFA) and will continue to use its logo on the match and training kits of the Swiss national teams. The banking group has been a partner of the Swiss Football Association since 1993. "We are not dependent on any one partner, but we would be greatly affected if Credit Suisse were to leave us," explained Adrian Arnold. UBS, the new owner of Credit Suisse, does not have any partnerships in sport. "This might be the right time to do it. We hope that we can continue to work together in some form after the contract expires," added the body's head of communications.
