Tennis/US Open: Sportcast (SuperTennis) obtains exclusive TV rights in Italy for 5 years (2023-2027)

Sportcast, the company in charge of the free-to-air DTT channel SuperTennis, has acquired the exclusive full broadcasting rights in Italy to the US Open as part of a "five-year agreement from 2023 through 2027," announced the Grand Slam tournament on 22/03/2023.

"The agreement, reached in collaboration with media and marketing rights agency IMG, will allow Italian fans to watch the US Open for free after 34 years of pay-TV broadcasting. SuperTennis will broadcast the most important matches live and on-demand, while the digital platform SuperTenniX will give members of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP) and their subscribers the opportunity to watch all the matches of the tournament in streaming," explained Sportcast.

SuperTenniX is available free of charge to all FITP members. Non-members can access the channel via a monthly subscription fee of €3.99 or an annual fee of €34.99. The rights to broadcast the US Open in Italy were previously held by media and entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery, which broadcast the tournament via its Eurosport pay-TV package.
