UEFA: president & half of the executive committee to be elected at the Lisbon Congress on 05/04/2023

"The president and eight members of the executive Committee to be elected by the Congress (including at least one female) shall be elected during the calendar year preceding the final round of the UEFA European Football Championship" states article 19 paragraph 3 of the UEFA Statutes.

This 2023 Congress (organised "during the calendar year preceding" Euro 2024) will take place in Lisbon (POR) on Wednesday 05/04/2023.

UEFA received only one application for the role of president by the deadline of 05/01/2023 (three months to the day before the elective congress): that of Aleksander Ceferin (Slovenia), UEFA president since 14/09/2016, who is seeking a new four-year mandate (2023-2027), according to the European body on 06/01/2023.

Regarding the renewal of half of the executive committee, only one woman, Laura McAllister (Wales) is a candidate for the position of "female member" of the executive committee (four-year term). The Welshwoman will succeed Florence Hardouin (FRA), who is in the process of being dismissed from her position as general manager of the FFF.
