RC Strasbourg Alsace: locally made footwear integrated into the club's range of recycled products

RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) has added to its range of recycled products with trainers customised by a Strasbourg-based shoemaker using old shirts, announced the French club on 21/03/2023.

"Racing has chosen to trust Charles-Julien Nivair, a shoemaker in Strasbourg, to take up a new challenge: recycling shirts by customising pairs of shoes. It's a meticulous operation, requiring almost half a day's work per pair," explained the club. The trainers, available in two colours, are being sold for €139 per pair.

This initiative follows the club's collaboration with Au Fil d'Altair, a professional integration workshop that supervises employees with disabilities or those in rehabilitation, "located a few hundred metres from the Stade de la Meinau (Strasbourg, Alsace)". The workshop manufactures "a growing proportion of Racing's white-label textile collections and works on the recycling of unsold or defective shirts," explained the club.
