EuroBasket 2022: a total economic impact of €227m for the five host cities (Nielsen Sports)

The economic impact of EuroBasket 2022 (European basketball nations championship organised by FIBA Europe from 01 to 18/09/2022) on the five host cities of Berlin, Cologne (Germany), Milan (Italy), Prague (Czech Republic) and Tbilisi (Georgia) amounted to €227m, according to the Host City Impact Study conducted by Nielsen Sports and published on 21/03/2023.

In addition to this €227m, the media impact (TV, OTT, web and social media) is estimated at €39m and the social impact (an increase in physical activity and continued training of volunteers) at €4m, for a total of €270m, broken down city by city as follows:

• Berlin (host of 15 games in the final phase): €83m
• Cologne (15 group phase games): €63m
• Prague (15 group phase games): €54m
• Milan (15 group phase games): €45m
• Tbilisi (15 group phase games): €25m
