Liverpool FC: publication of "The Red Way" report which assesses the club's sustainability programme

Liverpool FC (Premier League) has published the first edition of "The Red Way" report, which assesses the club's sustainability programme launched in January 2021, on 20/03/2023.

The report highlights "the club's ongoing commitment to creating a better future for its people, planet and communities. LFC knows it has responsibility as a global football club to help inspire and encourage positive changes in behaviour, and it was with this in mind that it launched its club-wide sustainability programme," explained the Merseyside club.

Among the main findings of the report:
• "Switching to renewable tariffs has prevented 2,636 tonnes of potential carbon emissions from being emitted.
• LFC Foundation contributed a value of £80.17m (€91.2m) to the Liverpool City Region in a 12-month period.
• The club has seen a 60% reduction in carbon emissions across fuel and electricity since 2019.
• 98% hand-back rate for reusable cups on matchdays at the end of 2022, up from 20% from the beginning of 2021."
