FC Bayern Munich signs a partnership with GPS to train youth players in the United States

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) signed a partnership with GPS (Global Premier Soccer), an organisation that brings together 75 youth football clubs from 11 states in the USA in order to assist in the training of young players, and to strengthen the presence of the Bavarian club in the Americas, announced Bayern Munich on 12/11/2014.

The German club will send its academy coaches for five weeks per year to the United States to contribute their knowledge to GPS partner clubs. The academy of the Bavarian club trained several members of the 2014 German world champion squad, including Bastian Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller.

Bayern continues its strategy in the US market

  • "I am convinced that football will continue to grow in the United States, and we do not want to work only with many training camps, but also with the top professional teams at the MLS level," said Wolfgang Dremmler, academy director of FC Bayern Munich, on 12/11/2014.
