Angers SCO: president Saïd Chabane resigns and will be succeeded by his son Romain Chabane

Saïd Chabane, president of Angers SCO (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) since November 2011, "submitted his resignation at the board meeting on 21/03/2023," announced the French club on 29/03/2023.

The Franco-Algerian entrepreneur, who remains the club's owner, "has thus decided to step down and hand over his position to his son Romain Chabane." The latter had been, since November 2020, CEO of Valansot (charcuterie), a brand that belongs to the Cosnelle group, of which Saïd Chabane is president.

In addition, Teddy Kefalas has been appointed to the position of deputy president and will be in charge of "the operational aspects" of the club from 01/04/2023.

In addition to a very worrying sporting situation (20^th in Ligue 1 after 28 games, 14 points from the first non-relegation team), the Angevin club is having a difficult 2022-23 season since the Angers prosecution recently called for a trial against Saïd Chabane in the context of a sexual assault case involving several Angers SCO employees. He will appear before the criminal court on 14/06/2023.
