Brentford FC: a record turnover of £140.9m & net profit of £25.7m in 2021-22

Brentford FC (Premier League) has posted a record turnover of £140.9m (€163.3m) for the financial year 2021-22 (01/07/2021 to 30/06/2022), up from £15.3m (€17.8m) in 2021, announced the English club on 29/03/2023.

This sharp increase is due to Brentford FC's promotion to the Premier League after the 2020-21 season, their first time in the top flight since 1946. The main impact of the promotion is on TV rights revenue from the English league, with £114.9m (€133.1m) received in 2021-22, up from £10.6m (€12.3m) the previous year. Commercial revenue increased from £4.1m (€4.7m) in 2021 to £15m (€17.3m) in 2022. Finally, matchday revenue also increased, thanks to the end of the restrictions on fans entering English stadiums due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This reached £10.4m in 2021-22, compared to less than £1m in 2020-21.

The club posted a net profit of £25.7m (€29.8m) in 2021-22, compared with a net loss of £2.4m (€2.8m) the previous year.
