Premier League: clubs opposed to producing a documentary series with Netflix (press)

Premier League clubs have reportedly turned down Netflix's production of a behind-the-scenes documentary series on the English league, according to the British daily The Times on 30/03/2023.

The clubs rejected a £15m (€17m) offer from the streaming platform to produce a series over three years, or £5m (€5.68m) per season. The amount offered would not be high enough for the clubs and such a series could also have a negative impact on the next tender for the Premier League's domestic broadcasting rights (from 2025-26), according to The Times.

Netflix has already partnered with LaLiga, the Tour de France, the ATP Tour, ATP Media, the WTA Tour, the Grand Slam tennis tournaments as well as the PGA Tour and the Formula One World Championship to produce docu-series.
