European Top 5: social media communities of the 98 clubs (April 2023)

• Together the clubs in the European Top 5 gained 70.2 million fans last month, bringing their total followers to just over 2.3 billion.
• Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is the club with the most fans on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter combined, with nearly 324 million followers ahead of FC Barcelona, with 297 million followers, and Manchester United FC (Premier League), which has 195 million followers.
• Real Madrid was the club that posted the largest increase in fans during the month of March, with 3.3 million new followers.
• In relative terms, RCD Mallorca (LaLiga Santander) posted the best percentage growth in its total number of followers, with an average of +54.9% across the four platforms.
• Only nine clubs from the European Top 5 have a total of over 100 million followers, including four from the Premier League, two from LaLiga Santander, one from the Ligue 1 Uber Eats, one from the Bundesliga (FC Bayern Munich) and one from the Serie A TIM (Juventus FC).
