LFP: 45% of French people are interested in football in 2022-23 (+6%) & 26% support an Ligue 1 club

• "45% of French people are interested in football in 2022-23, compared to 39% in 2021-22;
• 39% regularly follow football competitions (+3% compared to 2021-22);
• 21 million people are interested in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats (34%, +1 million compared to 2021-22);
• 13 million are interested in the Ligue 2 BKT (21%, +1 million);
• A record 87% of respondents have a positive image of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats (+3 points);
• 26% of French people are supporters of a Ligue 1 club, and 14% of an Ligue 2 club."

These are the main findings of the annual survey conducted by the research institute Ipsos on the interest, following and image of sports, competitions and professional football clubs, commissioned by the Ligue de Football Professionnel and Foot Unis, the results of which were published on 04/04/2023.

The study also indicates that the image of football is at its highest level ever (45% positive image in January 2023, compared to 38% three months earlier), a result partly justified by the French team's journey to the 2022 World Cup final.
