2030 World Cup: Morocco's joint bid unanimously supported by the CAF executive committee

The executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unanimously agreed, on behalf of African Football, to support Morocco’s bid to host the 2030 World Cup (2^nd edition with 48 teams), announced the body on 06/04/2023.

"The Kingdom of Morocco has decided, together with Spain and Portugal, to present a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup. Unprecedented in the history of football, this joint bid will connect Africa and Europe, the North and South of the Mediterranean, and the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds," declared Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, on 14/03/2023.

“The unanimous decision that was taken by the CAF executive committee means that the bid of Morocco is now the bid of the African continent. We are now focusing on ensuring that Africa once more hosts the FIFA World Cup and are committed to working together with all football national associations and confederations to make this happen," said Patrice Motsepe, president of CAF.
