The Meta Group, parent company of the social networks Facebook and Instagram as well as the instant messaging platforms Whatsapp and Messenger, has partnered with the OTT platform Peacock (NBCUniversal) to broadcast content from the streaming service in virtual reality (VR) in the United States, announced the group on 12/04/2023.

Subscribers to the platform will be able to access, via the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro VR headsets, "more than 90,000 hours of movies, TV shows and sports such as the Premier League, WWE (wrestling) and more across more than 50 always-on channels, marking the first time the streaming service is available on a virtual reality (VR) headset," said Meta

The initiative is part of Meta's three-year partnership with the US media and entertainment conglomerate NBCUniversal, which was signed in October 2022.
