"On the eve of my 78th birthday I am retiring as a director of La Berrichonne de Châteauroux (National 1), of which I was active then non-executive president until the match versus Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 1-3 in the Coupe de France, 06/01/2023), my other club," announced Michel Denisot on the social network Twitter, on 15/04/2023.

Denisot, who was president of the French club from 1989 to 1991 and again from 2002 to 2008, was reappointed to the post following the takeover of LB Chateauroux by the Saudi group United World in March 2021. His successor has not yet been appointed as of 17/04/2023.

Michel Denisot was previously president of Paris Saint-Germain from 1991 to 1998, with whom he won the 1995-96 edition of the European Cup Winners' Cup. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Ligue de Football Professionnel from December 2015 to July 2021. A candidate for the position of president of the LFP, he was eventually defeated by Vincent Labrune on 10/09/2020.
