Paris 2024: less than 500 days until the first Paralympic Games held in France

"We're very excited to finally be 500 days away from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games," Andrew Parsons, president of the International Paralympic Committee, told the regional daily Ouest France on 16/04/2023.

These 17^th Paralympic Games will be held for the first time in their history in France, at 19 venues, over 12 days from 28/08 to 08/09/2024. 22 Paralympic sports will be represented, with 23 disciplines and 549 events to be contested by 4,400 athletes from 184 delegations.

The competitions will start on 29/08/2024, the day after the opening ceremony, which is expected to attract 65,000 spectators (including 30,000 free of charge) in the streets of Paris as part of a parade from the Champs-Élysées to the Place de la Concorde on Wednesday 28/08/2024. "The opening ceremony outside the Stade de France and the iconic practice venues will make these Games all the more spectacular in terms of broadcasting, emotion and image promotion," said the Brazilian. The closing ceremony will be held on Sunday 08/09/2024 at the Stade de France (Saint-Denis, Paris, FRA).
