MotoGP/Spain: RTVE acquires rights to broadcast three races during the 2023 season

RTVE has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights in Spain for three races during the 2023 MotoGP season, announced the public broadcasting group on 17/04/2023.

The acquisition was made via a sublicensing agreement with the OTT sports platform DAZN. The agreement covers the Italian Grand Prix (09-11/09/2023), the Catalan Grand Prix (ESP, 01-03/09/2023) and the Valencia Grand Prix (ESP, 24-26/11/2023). RTVE will broadcast the qualifying sessions, the sprint race and the MotoGP race. The group will also broadcast the Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE races.

DAZN held the exclusive full broadcasting rights in Spain to MotoGP for the 2019-2022 cycle when the streaming platform was launched in the Spanish market at the beginning of 2019, and extended these rights to the 2023-2027 cycle on 11/10/2022.

• For the 2022 season, DAZN had entered into an agreement with Red Bull, title sponsor of the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix, to sublicense the rights to co-broadcast the race with the free-to-air streaming platform Twitch in Spain.
