Manchester City FC: club applies for planning permission to develop the Etihad Stadium (£300m/€340m)

Manchester City FC (Premier League) has applied to Manchester City Council (England) for planning permission to develop the Etihad Stadium into "a best-in-class fan experience and year-round entertainment and leisure destination," announced the club on 18/04/2023.

"The club's proposals represent over £300m (€340m) investment into East Manchester through a major construction project that would take up to three years to complete, offering 2,600 jobs prioritised for people from Greater Manchester," explained Manchester City.

The development plans presented by the club includes:
⚽️ an enlarged North Stand with a total capacity of 60,000 seats (up from 53,480 currently);
⚽️ the creation of a covered area called "City Square", with a 3,000-seat fan zone, food and drink outlets;
⚽️ a stadium roof walkway, a new club shop, a museum, as well as a 400-bed hotel and new reception areas;
⚽️ a space for businesses to base themselves and work with the club, City Football Group and Etihad Campus partners.
