England: The Football Association alerts the government to financial support for amateur football

"One of our key concerns is the financial support for the whole football pyramid. (With the independent regulator) this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support and secure the future of 18,000 clubs across the National League System (divisions 5 to 10) and grassroots pyramid," announced The Football Association (The FA) on 17/04/2023.

The Football Association has sent a letter to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government in response to the White Paper "A Sustainable Future - Reforming Club Football Governance" published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on 23/02/2023. While The FA acknowledges that it has been involved in the government's work and supports the proposal for an independent regulatory body, it has taken a position on a number of issues relating to the future deployment of this body.
