FIFA Women's World Cup: a United States/Mexico joint bid to host the 2027 tournament

The United States Soccer Federation (US Soccer) and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) have informed FIFA of their intention to submit a joint bid to host the Women's World Cup 2027, announced the two Concacaf bodies on 19/04/2023. The deadline for submitting an "expression of interest" was set at 21/04/2023 by the International Federation when it launched the bidding process on 23/03/2023.

The United States has hosted the Women's World Cup twice before, in 1999 and 2003. Mexico, meanwhile, "has never hosted a Women’s World Cup, but the recent growth of the Liga MX Femenil (national women's league launched in 2017) has been wildly impressive in terms of attendance, fan attention and quality of play on the field."

The two countries, together with Canada, will also host the Men's 2026 World Cup, as decided by the 68^th FIFA Congress on 13/06/2018.

The national associations applying to host the Women's World Cup 2027 have until 21/04 to express their interest, which must then be confirmed with FIFA before 20/05/2023.
