2015 Rugby World Cup could bring €1.2bn to the British economy (EY study)

The 2015 Rugby World Cup Rugby in England (from 18/09 to 31/10/2015) could yield £982m (€ 1.2 billion) to the British economy, according to a study from the audit firm EY (formerly Ernst & Young) for the local organising committee of this competition, published on 18/11/2014.

The World Cup, which will be played in 13 stadiums, could host 466,000 tourists from around the world, said EY. The estimated expenditure of the tourists during the World Cup is €488m. 35,000 jobs could be created in England via the 2015 Rugby World Cup, according to EY.
