LFP: DNCG report on the "Situation of Professional Football" in France (2021-22 season)

A net result in 2021-22 of -€601.4m (compared to -€685.1m in 2020-21, i.e. a positive variation of 12%) for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 combined is one of the key figures in the DNCG's "Situation of Professional Football" report published by the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 21/04/2023.

With the exception of audiovisual rights, down 12% to €825.3m, all sources of revenue for French professional clubs are increasing, in particular "sponsorship - advertising" revenue, up 46% (€703m) and, above all, "match revenues", which increased 21-fold (€243.9m) due to the gradual reduction in the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis. The 2021-22 financial year was hardly affected by the health restrictions compared to the previous year, and spectators were able to return to the stadium in a largely normal manner.

In total, revenue excluding transfers amounted to €2.26bn, compared with €1.81bn in 2020-21 (+25%). Income from player transfers, was also up (+13%, to €463m).
