Bundesliga: Bayern Munich re-pay the loan (€346m) for the Allianz Arena 16 years ahead of schedule

"In 2005, we borrowed €346m over 25 years, until 2030. And now the stadium is (fully) paid in nine and a half years," announced Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), on 20/11/2014, officially confirming information News Tank published on 20/10/2014.

The €110m in capital injected into the club by the German insurer Allianz on11/02/2014 (for a stake of 8.33% of the capital) has been used for the repayment of the loan. "The revenue generated in the future by the Allianz Arena will also serve to enhance the quality of the workforce," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The activities of the Allianz Arena (ticketing, hospitality, catering, events, etc) generated €126m in revenue in 2012-13.

Bayern Munich are expected to officially announce a new turnover record for the 2013-14 season at its general meeting on 28/11/2014. "It is not a secret that we have surpassed the half-billion mark for the 2013-14 season," said the Bayern chairman.
