LFP/2021-22 season: "A rather encouraging situation at the end of the crisis" (J-M. Mickeler, DNCG)

"It should be remembered that, aside from Covid-19, French football is the only one to have had to deal with a default by its main television broadcaster, Mediapro. In this context, the situation at the end of the crisis is rather encouraging. At the end of the 2021-22 season, Ligue 1 generated more than €2bn in revenue excluding player trading," said Jean-Marc Mickeler, president of the DNCG, to the French business daily Les Echos dated 21/04/2023.

The global CEO of Deloitte's Audit & Assurance practice gave an update on the financial situation of French clubs on the occasion of the publication of the DNCG's report on the 2021-22 financial year by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (document available to download).
