UEFA: Laws of the game & refereeing on the agenda at the inaugural "Football Board" meeting

The Laws of the Game and refereeing issues such as video assistance, the handball rule and player behaviour were on the agenda at the inaugural meeting of the UEFA Football Board at the House of European Football in Nyon (SUI) on 24/04/2023.

This "stellar line-up of former football stars and elite coaches" whose creation was approved by the UEFA executive committee in Lisbon (POR) on 04/04/2023, aims "to give an institutional yet independent voice of experience and expertise on fundamental football-related topics, including the Laws of the Game, refereeing, match calendar, elite youth development and players well-being," explained UEFA on 21/04/2023.

The UEFA Football Board was created upon the initiative of Zvonimir Boban (CRO), chief of football at UEFA, assisted by Roberto Rosetti (ITA), chief refereeing officer of the European body.
