Wimbledon 2023: no broadcast in Russia or Belarus despite the return of athletes from the countries

The 2023 edition of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, to be held from 03 to 16/07/2023, will not be broadcast in Russia or Belarus, although Russian and Belarusian players will be conditionally accepted as "neutral" athletes, according to Ian Hewitt and Sally Bolton, respectively chairman and chief executive of the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), the organisers of the English tournament, on 25/04/2023.

Media from these two countries will not be allowed at the event. The 2022 edition of the tournament was not broadcast in these territories due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia on 24/02/2022.

The AELTC has decided to accept entries from Russian and Belarusian players for the 2023 edition of the tournament "subject to them competing as 'neutral' athletes and complying with appropriate conditions," said the body on 31/03/2023.
