RC Strasbourg Alsace: beginning of the renovation & extension of the Stade de la Meinau (€160m)

The construction of a building behind the south stand at the Stade de la Meinau, to which it will then be connected and which it will cover, and the increase in the stadium's capacity to 32,000 seats (including 3,600 VIP seats), compared with 26,109 at present, are the two main focuses of the work announced at a press conference marking the official launch of the restructuring and extension of the Stade de la Meinau (Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin), home of RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), on 02/05/2023.

The project, which was initially scheduled to start in May 2022 at a cost of €100m excluding tax, is now estimated at €160m excluding tax, broken down as follows:
• €75.8m by the Eurometropole of Strasbourg (47.3%)
• €37.5m by the Grand-Est Region (23.4%);
• €18.8m by the City of Strasbourg (11.8%);
• €18.8m by the European Collectivity of Alsace (11.8%);
• €9.1m by RC Strasbourg Alsace (5.7%).

In parallel with the joint project, which is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2026, RCSA will finance the development of the stadium's commercial areas to the tune of €14m.
