2022-23 Champions League/Italy: Sky Italia to broadcast AC Milan - Inter free-to-air on 10/05/2023

The pay-TV operator Sky Italia has acquired from Amazon the free-to-air broadcasting rights in Italy for the match between AC Milan (Serie A TIM) and FC Inter Milan (Serie A TIM), the first leg of their 2022-23 Champions League semi-final scheduled for Wednesday 10/05/2023 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), announced the American e-commerce group on 28/04/2023.

The match will be broadcast live on the operator's free-to-air DTT channel TV8, in addition to being shown on Amazon's Prime Video platform, which holds the exclusive broadcasting rights in Italy for the Wednesday night top fixture over the 2021-2024 cycle.

The Italian Competition Authority (AGCOM) had indicated on 27/04/2023 that the first leg of the semi-final could not be broadcast exclusively on Prime Video. In fact, in the event of the participation of an Italian team, the semi-finals and finals of the Champions League and Europa League are included in the list of "events considered particularly important for society" and must be broadcast free-to-air, according to AGCOM.
