UEFA: partnership signed with the European Space Agency based on "Innovation & technology"

"Innovation and technology" are at the heart of UEFA's partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), "the first ever between the organisation dedicated to the exploration of space and a sports organisation. This partnership will enable UEFA to benefit from ESA's network and expertise to address key challenges and generate new opportunities in football through innovative solutions," announced the Union of European Football Associations on 08/05/2023.

"Satellites can help monitor crowds from space and identify when crowds are building up at bottlenecks in the flow of people around football stadiums. Similarly telecommunications satellites can support overloaded terrestrial communications networks when crowds gather to watch matches and navigation satellites can track people in real time," said the European Space Agency.
