England: SkyBet "Transfer Fund" operation ends on 08/12/2014, Football League clubs add promotions

The "Transfer Fund" operation, launched by the British online sports betting operator SkyBet, and which enables fans the chance to win £250,000 (approximately €315,000) to be used by their favourite Football League (English 2^nd, 3^rd, and 4^th divisions) club for transfers in the January 2015 transfer window, ends on 08/12/2014.

The operation, which began on 25/07/2014, has inspired several Football League clubs to add additional promotions to encourage supporters to make bets with SkyBet, and thus earn more tokens (or tickets) to be added to the final lottery draw.

• The date of the lottery draw has not yet been fixed, with SkyBet stating that it will use "an official independent adjudicator", such as the national lottery, to conduct the winning draw.
• The £250,000 to the winning club will be available for the start of the January 2015 transfer window, and the £5,000 (approximately €6,300) personal prize to the winning fan will be paid "within 72 hours of the draw", according to SkyBet.
