2022-23 Champions League: 7.49 million viewers for AC Milan - Inter Milan on TV8 in Italy

AC Milan (Serie A TIM) - FC Inter Milan (Serie A TIM), the first leg of their 2022-23 Champions League semi-final, drew an average of 7.49 million viewers on the free DTT channel TV8 (Sky Italia), on Wednesday 10/05/2023 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute Auditel.

This figure represented an audience share of 33.1%. The match was also broadcast on Amazon's Prime Video platform.

Sky Italia had acquired from Amazon (holder of the exclusive broadcasting rights in Italy to the Wednesday evening Champions League fixture for the 2021-2024 cycle) the free-to-air broadcasting rights for the match in Italy, on 28/04/2023.

The Italian Competition Authority (AGCOM) had indicated on 27/04/2023 that the first leg of the semi-final could not be broadcast exclusively on Prime Video. In fact, in the event of the participation of an Italian team, the semi-finals and finals of the Champions League and Europa League are included in the list of "events considered particularly important for society" and must be broadcast free-to-air, according to AGCOM.
