United States: ESPN+ (OTT) had 25.3 million subscribers on 01/04/2023 (+400,000 in three months)

ESPN+, an OTT sports platform launched on 12/04/2018 in the USA, had 25.3 million subscribers on 01/04/2023, an increase of 400,000 subscribers since 31/12/2022, according to quarterly results released by The Walt Disney Company, parent company of the ESPN sports pay-TV package, on 10/05/2023.

The platform is available for a monthly fee of $9.99 (€9.10) per month. Disney+, the group's other OTT platform launched on 12/11/2019, alone has 157.8 million subscribers worldwide as of 01/04/2023 (-4 million subscribers since 31/12/2022).

"We’re pleased with our accomplishments this quarter, including the improved financial performance of our streaming business, which reflect the strategic changes we've been making throughout the company to realign Disney for sustained growth and success," said Robert A. Iger, CEO of the American media and entertainment conglomerate (replaced Bob Chapek on 20/11/2022), which reported revenues of $21.82bn (€19.88bn) in the second quarter of its financial year 2023, compared to $19.25bn (€17.54bn) in the same period in 2022.
