Formula 1/Germany: 2023 Emilia Romagna & Hungarian Grands Prix to be broadcast free on YouTube

The Formula 1 Emilia Romagna (ITA, 21/05/2023 at 15:00 CET) and Hungarian (23/07/2023 at 15:00 CET) Grands Prix will be broadcast free of charge by the pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland in Germany, announced the company on 10/05/2023.

The races will be broadcast live and free-to-air on the Sky Sport Deutschland website and app as well as on the operator's dedicated YouTube sports channel. The Grands Prix will also be broadcast live on the pay-TV channel Sky Sport F1 and the streaming service WOW. As part of its broadcasting contract, Sky Deutschland is to broadcast four races free-to-air each season.

Sky Deutschland has held the exclusive rights to Formula 1 since 2021, and extended these rights until 2027 on 30/09/2022. During the 2019 and 2020 seasons it co-broadcast F1 with the German broadcasting group RTL Deutschland, and had sublicensed the free-to-air rights to four races to RTL for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. This agreement has not been renewed for 2023.
