Italy: Rai acquires TV rights to the Summer & Winter Olympics for the 2026-2032 cycle

Rai has acquired, via a sublicensing agreement with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the media and entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery, the exclusive free-to-air broadcasting rights in Italy to the Summer and Winter Olympic Games for the 2026-2032 (four editions), announced the Italian public broadcasting group on 17/05/2023.

Rai will broadcast, via "all platforms (TV, internet and mobile)", the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Summer Games, the 2030 Olympic Winter Games (not awarded) and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games (Australia). Warner Bros. Discovery holds the pay-per-view rights to these editions and will broadcast them via the pay-TV group Eurosport and the streaming platform discovery+.

Warner Bros. Discovery and the EBU acquired the media rights to 49 territories in Europe (excluding Russia and Belarus) for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games over the 2026-2032 cycle on 16/01/2023.
