Vinícius Jr. victim of racism: complaint from Real Madrid & reactions from the world of football

"Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) strongly condemns the events that took place yesterday against our player Vinícius Junior. These events represent a direct attack on the social and democratic model of coexistence of our State based on the rule of law. Real Madrid believes that such attacks also constitute a hate crime, and has therefore filed the corresponding report with the Attorney General's Office, specifically with the Prosecutor's Office against crimes of hatred and discrimination, in order for the facts to be investigated and for those responsible to be held accountable," announced the Spanish club on 22/05/2023.

This statement comes after the Brazilian was once again the victim of racist abuse during a LaLiga Santander match, this time during the Madrid club's defeat by Valencia CF (0-1, Matchday 35 of the 2022-23 season) at the Estadio de Mestalla on 21/05/2023.
