CSR: VfL Wolfsburg, the most committed Bundesliga club in 2022-23 (Sustainability Table)

VfL Wolfsburg is the Bundesliga club with the greatest commitment to the environment and sustainability, according to the second edition of the "Bundesliga Sustainability Table" report published by the British agency Sport Positive on 24/05/2023. The German club takes the top spot for the second year in a row.

The ranking is based on eleven criteria, each of which is worth up to two points (policy and commitment, communications & engagement; clean energy; energy efficiency; single-use plastic reduction or removal; waste management; water efficiency; plant-based/low carbon food; biodiversity; education; and sustainable procurement).

Two bonus points can be awarded to clubs whose efforts in environmental responsibility are recognised through international certification, and who assess and report the percentage of fans using sustainable transport to get to the stadium on matchdays.

Wolfsburg received 23 points (out of 24), ahead of 1. FC Köln (2^nd, 20 points) and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (3^rd, 19 points). The lowest score (4.5 points) was given to 1. FC Union Berlin (7.5 points) in 17^th place…
