FFF/TV rights: direct negotiations with broadcasters for the D1 Arkema & women's national team

"Following the consultation on the exploitation of the audiovisual rights to the D1 Arkema and the French women's team on 13/04/2023, the FFF is pleased to have obtained proposals for all the lots and has entered into direct negotiations with all the interested broadcasters," announced the Fédération Française de Football on 25/05/2023.

On 13/04/2023, the FFF launched a call for tenders for the broadcasting rights to the D1 Arkema and the French women's team matches in France for the 2023-2027 cycle (four seasons), as well as those for the Trophée des championnes for the 2024-2027 cycle (three editions). The deadline for submitting these bids was then pushed back to Friday 12/05, instead of Thursday 04/05/2023.

The pay and free-TV group Canal+ is said to have made a bid for the TV rights to the top two fixtures of each D1 Arkema matchday, according to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 12/05/2023. The value of the bid would be slightly lower than the €1.2m per year that the group currently pays for the rights to all matches in the women's league over the 2018-2023 cycle.
