FC Bayern Munich: Oliver Kahn dismissed, Jan-Christian Dreesen appointed as new CEO

Jan-Christian Dreesen has been appointed CEO and chairman of the board of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) after Oliver Kahn was dismissed by Bayern's supervisory board, announced the club on 27/05/2023.

The 55-year-old German, vice-chairman of the board at FC Bayern München AG, FC Bayern Munich's commercial structure, since February 2014, had initially (in autumn 2022) announced his departure from the club at the end of the 2022-23 season in order to pursue "new challenges."

"Jan-Christian Dreesen has done an outstanding job for FC Bayern over the past ten years. He lives FC Bayern, knows the club inside out and knows what is important here. We are very pleased that he is taking on this task. He can get to work without a period of adjustment, and that's exactly what FC Bayern needs in the current situation," said Herbert Hainer, president of FC Bayern Munich, who were crowned 2022-23 Bundesliga champions.
