3X3 Basketball: EBU acquires TV rights to several international competitions in 2023-2024

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has acquired from FIBA the exclusive broadcasting rights for eight of its member countries, to several international 3X3 basketball competitions over the 2023-2024 cycle, announced the body on 26/05/2023.

The agreement covers the public broadcasting groups ERT (Greece), MTVA (Hungary), NOS (Netherlands), LRT (Lithuania) and RTVE (Spain), as well as the public TV groups RTBF (Belgium, in French), VRT (Belgium, in Dutch), TVP (Poland) and SRG SSR (Switzerland).

Among the competitions included are the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2023 (held in Vienna, Austria, from 30/05 to 04/06/2023), the 3x3 Europe Cup 2023 (held in Jerusalem, Israel, from 05/07/09/2023) and the Europe Cup 2024 (held in Austria).

"Members will base their coverage on their national teams and will exploit the content on both their linear and non-linear platforms.News clips will be distributed via Eurovision Sports News and the events will receive widespread promotion via the social media of EBU Members and FIBA's own 3x3 social media platforms," said the European Broadcasting Union.
