2022-23 Europa League: Sevilla FC win the competition for a record 7^th time

Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander) are the 2022-23 Europa League winners thanks to a victory (1-1 then 4-1 on penalties) over AS Roma (Serie A TIM) at the Puskás Arena in Budapest (Hungary) on Wednesday 31/05/2023.

This is the Spanish club's record seventh title in the competition, following those of 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020. Sevilla FC are well ahead of Liverpool FC (Premier League), FC Inter Milan (Serie A TIM), Juventus FC (Serie A TIM) and Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga Santander), who have each won the competition three times.

Only 11^th in the 2022-23 Spanish Championship after 37 days, the Andalusian club is guaranteed to participate in the group stage of the 2023-24 Champions League alongside four other Spanish representatives: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad.

Sevilla FC will receive a total of €61.2m from UEFA as a result of their European campaign in 2022-23, which began in the Champions League group stage before finishing third and being relegated to the play-offs for the Round of 16 of the Europa League.
